The world-famous Shu Brocade and Embroidery are known far and wide as some of Sichuan's most prized treasures. Shu Embroidery, one of the oldest types of embroidery in China, is famous for its unique stitching and embroidery techniques. Today, there are ever more possibilities to combine Shu Embroidery and fashion. Zhong Ming, founder of Shujing Studio, has applied AI technology to endow the traditional culture of this intangible cultural heritage with renewed vitality.
“我一直關注著三星堆的考古進程,三星堆遺址發(fā)現(xiàn)的絲綢殘留物對我們來說意義重大?!辩娒髡f,由于成都地下潮濕,而絲織物很容易風化,且保存時間短,三星堆現(xiàn)在有實物的論證擴大了絲織物的影響力,考古成果能夠進一步完善蜀錦的淵源和發(fā)展脈絡。
Zhong Ming told us: "I have been keeping a close eye on the archaeological process at the Sanxingdui site, and silk residues found in the Sanxingdui site are of great significance to us." In addition, Zhong Ming pointed out that due to the damp underground in Chengdu, silk fabrics easily suffered from weathering and so were difficult to preserve for a very long time. Demonstrations of Sanxingdui's concrete objects has expanded the silk fabrics' influence, and archaeological discoveries could further complete our understanding of the origin and development of Shu Brocade.

When referring to the colour used in the re-creation work for 'Colourful Sanxingdui', Zhong Ming said: "Red is the most traditional and influential colour in the history of Shu Brocade". Zhong Ming told us that since the water of the Jin Jiang River came from the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, its mineral content was different from other water sources, and the water was rich in certain metal particles. If the woven Shu brocade was rinsed in the Jin Jiang River and underwent a secondary reaction, its colour would become more vivid.
不僅如此,三星堆對鐘明在蜀錦蜀繡上的創(chuàng)作有新的啟發(fā)和靈感。錦、繡結合及AI新錦繡的加入讓作品形式更現(xiàn)代時尚,雖跨越幾千年依舊時尚感十足的三星堆鳥頭作為內容呈現(xiàn)更相得益彰,至于為什么將荷花、荷葉和水紋以AI新錦繡的方式拍攝制作為錦底,鐘明解釋道:“我聽說三星堆以前有可能是一座水城,而這個鳥頭像讓我覺得像傳說中的魚鳧鳥,所以這種搭配是很合拍的?!?/p>
Moreover, Sanxingdui has brought new inspiration to Zhong Ming in the creation of Shu Brocade and Embroidery. The new combination of brocade and embroidery with AI allows such pieces to be more modern and fashionable, and so he therefore chose to base his re-creation project on the Sanxingdui bird head, that has contained the element of fashion for thousands of years. He used a kind of deformed brocade base that was shot by new AI brocade and embroidery techniques and had the same form as lotus, lotus leaves, and water patterns. "I heard that Sanxingdui may have been a water city in the past, and this bird head resembles a legendary fish mallard, so this combination is very suitable." Zhong Ming said, sharing his design idea with us.
鐘明希望能以絲綢的方式來展現(xiàn)三星堆的魅力,下一步會進行更多的嘗試,把文物的造型和紋飾圖案進行一種現(xiàn)代模式的演變,應用到現(xiàn)代創(chuàng)作中,由此迸發(fā)出蓬勃的生命力,散發(fā)新的生機與活力,用它明艷生動的藝術美感征服越來越多的人。
Zhong Ming hopes to exhibit the charm of Sanxingdui in the form of silk, and plans to make more attempts to apply the shapes and decorative patterns of Sanxingdui cultural relics to modern designs. In this way, his designs are able to help Sanxingdui live anew and show off its vigorous vitality, attracting more and more people with its bright and vivid artistic glamour.
